Glory 2 Wire Motor Control
Two wire control is usually used for a simple on off device such as a toggle switch float switch thermostat or other device that would switch off of a high low limit.
2 wire motor control. When to use 2 wire control and when to use 3 wire control. Figure 3 remote or local operation control. Two wire controls are generally designed to carry small amounts of current.
This type of control system cannot sufficiently handle large amounts of current nor control loads that require more than one set of contacts that is required for single phase 240v 208 v or 480 277 circuit. Because there is no other stop start control and only two wires need to be run to the actuating device is it usually referred to as two wire control. Many motor control circuits use an automatic start control.
Two wire control as seen in configuration 1 consists of a control device containing one set of contacts used to facilitate the on an off operation of a pilot device. 2 wire control and 3 wire control.
