Looking Good Installing A Dimmer Switch With Two Black Wires
Separate the black wires and cap them with wire nuts.
Installing a dimmer switch with two black wires. White is the neutral or return wire and should go to the white wire in the wall. Use a voltmeter to check which wire in the wall has voltage if you are unsure. You will find a red and black wire connected to the switch.
